Tale as old as time ~
Beauty and the Beast, one of our favourite Disney films and treasured love stories (mine anyway!), and Natalie and Matty love it that much they decided to incorporate it into their wedding theme; with a beautiful navy and red colour scheme and splash of Disney hints, it was obvious this was going to be the beginning of their happily ever after.
I met with Natalie bright and early at the Holiday Inn Marina in Hull, so we could get the day started with her and her bridal party’s hair and makeup preparations, along with some Disney metal music (yes that is a thing!) and ‘old school’ tunes.
Matty and his groomsmen met me down at the Marina, located just outside the hotel, for their pre-wedding preparation photographs, the sun came out and the Marina made for a lovely backdrop. The whole bridal party were up for trying some non-traditional style shots as well which is always interesting, some work, some don’t but I try to keep every couples’ album different, so each wedding is as unique as you both are.
The ceremony was emotional with a few tears here and there following the readings and personal, hand-written vows from each of the Bride and Groom.
The sun stayed out for us to get a few romantic moments and group photos before it was time for the breakfast and reception.
We walked into the reception room after photographs to find it completely transformed, with little bits of Beauty and the Beast on all the tables and a hugely impressive three-tier wedding cake, of course resembling Beauty and the Beast.
You know when you just ‘click’ with people, well I really did with Natalie and Matty; our mutual love of Disney and Rock music helped, but I had such a great day being your photographer! Thank you for having me and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together!
